Communications Materials

Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre
Course Calendar and Brochures - January 2016

For the 2016-17 academic year, I refreshed the design of Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre's course calendar and individual course brochures. This design was created with the goal of moving LRATC toward a more modern look that focused on student photography.

Canadian Canola Growers Association
Outreach Day Invitations - September 2014

In November 2014, members of the canola industry initiated an Outreach Day on Parliament Hill.

On behalf of the Canola Council of Canada and Canadian Canola Growers Association, I wrote copy for and designed the invitation to the right.

Louis Riel School Division
Experiential Learning Fair Presentation Board - March 2014

I designed this 30" x 40" presentation board showcasing the "It's All About Me" program, a partnership between St. Boniface Hospital Research Centre and Louis Riel School Division.

Some photography was provided, other photos were taken in the classroom by myself.

Social & Video

Canadian Canola Growers Association, Louis Riel School Division, Canola Council of Canada, Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference
2011 - 2016

In different communications coordinator positions, I was responsible for social media marketing.

For the Canadian Canola Growers Association, I am responsible for managing a content calendar with every department at CCGA. After working with AdFarm on a social media strategy in 2014, CCGA launched Twitter and YouTube pages in late 2015. I am the primary point of contact for writing, posting and monitoring content on those outlets, as well as blog posts on the redesigned CCGA Hub.

For the Louis Riel School Division, I was responsible for oversight of the division’s Twitter and Facebook Page. We were especially successful on Twitter, where I implemented a strategy with a target audience of parents, teachers and staff. I worked to include more multimedia, including posters and brochures that I was creating for the Division. Thanks to these efforts, the follower growth was steady, with gains especially in the parent audience. I also started Twitter accounts for all 40 schools, handing over the reins for posting to school administration.

For the Canola Council of Canada, I created a Twitter account for the company, @canolacouncil, with the intent of using it to live-tweet and send updates from the Council’s Annual Convention in Washington, D.C. I also wrote a strategy for @canolawatch, which included focusing agronomic tweets on audience and interacting with those who respond on a regular basis. @canolawatch saw its follower growth double in two months.

Website Content, Video - May 2016

During a website redesign, I worked with different departments at CCGA to rewrite and rethink content with a farmer audience in mind. This involved changing navigation structure and using new design features effectively.

As part of this work, I edited and posted all the written content on today. I also worked with our cash advance department to film and edit a video series titled "Why a Cash Advance?", which will be rolled out throughout the second half of 2016.

Louis Riel School Division
Website Content, Tutorials - August 2014

In a website redesign, I went through the Division website and all school websites, updating content and structure for readability and ease of use. I then was responsible for content input.

I also filmed and edited a series of  short tutorial videos on how to use the site, both for the public and for internal audiences.
